TC Energy pulls man-camp plan, submits amended "construction yard" application
TC Energy has applied for and submitted an amended special use permit for a Temporary Contractor Yard to be placed near Plainview as part of its Keystone XL Pipeline project that will build a pipeline from Hardisty, Alberta to Steele City, Nebraska. Eichberger family hosts 5K walk/run for MMR Foundation
Saturday, October 10th, the Eichberger family hosted a 5K Walk/Run fundraiser event to raise money for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation for team "Fight For Ike" in honor of Randy Eichberger.
The route took participants past Randy and Alene Eichberger’s home south of Plainview, so he could see all the love and support as they passed by with waves and well wishes.
With all the love and support, "Fight for Ike" raised $2,530 for the foundation. The MMRF has been the source of many new treatment advances for multiple myeloma patients and is very hopeful to soon find a cure.
“Our family is forever grateful for the research foundation and we are so proud to have helped donate to finding a cure,” said the Eichbergers.
Lady Pirates busy as team returns from quarantine

Gerdes memorial tournament held
The Fourth Annual Brandon Gerdes Memorial Trap Shoot was held on Saturday, September 26, 2020 after being postponed due to the pandemic. The 72 shooters gathered again at the Northeast Nebraska Shooting Association for the competition. New write-ins join races
The General Election candidate filings for the Plainview area were updated again this week, with two new candidates filing as write-ins and joining the race in the Plainview City Council and Board of Education for District #5. Brian Bowman and Kris Mann from the Plainview Fire Department brought a fire truck to the library to represent Fire Prevention Week. They did an excellent job explaining the content in each compartment of the fire truck and the content's use. The children were able to try on firemen coats and helmets. Bowman and Mann visited Story Hour in the morning and returned for Kindergarten, first, and second grade library in the afternoon.
