Northeast Community College to require masks
Northeast Community College continues to put plans into place to prepare to begin the fall semester on August 17. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, plans have been developed to include appropriate social distancing and classroom safety protocols. Fall sports will be taking place, according to the Nebraska School Activities Association. First practices for football and volleyball, cross country and golf are set to begin Aug. 10.

Niobrara School Board has approved the first reading of the updated Student Handbook, and the first reading of the new Staff Handbook, during their regular board meeting on Monday, July 13. See this week's Tribune for details.

Cade Kalkowski, a member of the Wayne State College men's track and field team, has received individual All-Academic honors from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association by the association office in New Orleans, La.

The Isanti Cultural Day Camp is taking place July 22 and 23 at the Isanti Powwow Grounds in Santee. Sessions run from 8 - 11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. Sessions include Dakota Language, Dakota Song and Dance, Dakota Stories, Tipi Lessons, Hand Games and Archery.

"Visit531 Nebraska" visits in Niobrara
Visit531 Nebraska was in Niobrara on Sunday.
They are a couple of UNL-Omaha students entering their sophomore year, who, due to the virus, found themselves getting frequently bored, so they decided to explore the state and visit all 531 towns in Nebraska.


Cheer Camp held at School
A Cheer Camp for the Niobrara High School cheerleaders was held on Monday in the school gym. Instructors came from the University of South Dakota at Vermillion.



Drive-In Church being held...

A fun summer learning camp featuring art has been taking place at Niobrara Public Schools during the past five weeks.

Congratulations to the NHS Class of 2020, who will graduate on Saturday, July 18. Ceremony is not open to the public but persons can view all of the graduates and their future plans in this week's edition of the Niobrara Tribune.
