This week, Oct. 6-12, is Fire and Safety Week. Niobrara Assistant Fire Chief Alex Sternberg offers fire safety tips pertaining to smoke alarms in this week's Tribune. The Niobrara Volunteer Fire Department is also taking this time to remind everyone of the increased fire danger the area is currently facing due to drought conditions. No open burning is being allowed at this time.
